There are several advantages of doing this, but the main advantage is that you will probably see an increase in your ability to perform the exercise properly, and thus you will be targeting your muscles in a much more effective manner.</p>

The will either put their hands behind their head and pull with their hands during their entire motion—both on the way up and on the way down. Third, because of the stress and the cheating people do not see the results they desire, and end up quitting the exercises entirely, allowing their core muscles to go untrained and thus further increase injury risk.</p>
<p>A good ab chair will help reduce these risks greatly, as the entire way the motion is performed is changed.  No longer are you even able to pull your neck and head, and your concentration is more directly targeted where you would like it to be targeted—to your abs.</p>
