The Space Wolves are easily the most recognizable battle squadron within Warhammer 40,000. There are many tiers to the strata of this particular battalion; the majority of the Space Wolves start out with the group known as Blood Claws. This is a group of wild and angry fighters looking to prove something. They are a savage and bloodthirsty group who are under the dangerous control of the Canis Helix; which unleashes their ferocious beastly qualities. Once they have proven their mettle in battle, the Blood Claws have a chance to be promoted to the rank of Grey Hunter. Which is more or less the brains behind the entire squad, as they are the battle hardened tacticians.

The Grey Hunters are looked up to, as they have made it up to this point almost because of sheer cunning. Yet there is another tier. Once the Grey Hunters have matured even more fully, they can rise into Long Fangs. The Long Fangs are the only group within the army that is allowed to designate it’s own target; as they are more disciplined and cool in the ways of battle. Also, they handle the majority of the heavy weaponry used to cover the rest of their battalion. The rankings continue on up through Wolf Guards, Wolf Lords, Wolf Scouts, and finally, Wolfblades.

This group exists as an honor guard that lives to protect the Navigator House of Belisarius; an ancient and mysterious ally. This is a distinct honor in and of itself; that the Wolves are very much aware of.

They are represented on the tabletop game Warhammer 40,000 with the ability to be assembled into a massive Space Wolves army. Usually, when the squad is deployed, all bets are off. So if you are into serious gameplay in Warhammer 40K, I suggest you join the Space Wolves.
