Cosmetic Eyebrow Tattoo Removal Using the Latest Laser Technology

If you’ve heard horror stories about eyebrow tattoo removal that involves horrible procedures like burning out the tattoo, or even such things as dermabrasions or salabrasions or what seemed like the high-tech solution with C02 lasers, you may not very anxious to try any of them, since they all leave scaring.

However, 10 to 15 years ago tattoo removal began to emerge from the dark ages with what were the first Q-switched lasers. These lasers offered an effective means to remove some of the dark tattoo inks without much scarring, however they have only recently developed the Q-switched lasers that can effectively remove many different types and colors of inks and pigments and do not harm the cells of healthy skin and therefore offer almost no risk of scarring during the removal.

How do the newest Q-switched lasers actually work in eyebrow tatoo removal?

A cosmetic eyebrow tattoo can be lightened or removed due to light pulses that are directed at the pigmented area. Ink or pigment rests in the skin in particle form, however they are not small enough to allow the body to eliminate them on its own, therefore the light pulses actually break up the bits of pigment or ink within the skin and make them so small that the body itself will flesh them out. It is an ingenious means to utilize the body’s own self cleansing system to eliminate unwanted color in the skin.

A cosmetic eyebrow tattoo that is just too dark, can be lightened, or a complete removal can be undertaken, however the latter will require weeks or months to complete. It is also possible to partially remove a section that is unwanted, or was improperly done, leaving the good part in tact and later retouching with a tattoo that completes the brow properly.

The same basic system that works for lightening or eliminating poorly done cosmetic eyebrow tattoo jobs, is also employed for removal or lightening of body art.

Please note that although tattoo removal has come a very long way, it is still not perfect. Tattoos may still be slightly visible, some pigments and inks are very difficult to remove, and there is no 100% guarantee against any scares or damage to hair follicles, which although less common than before, can still occur. Also, please note that a laser eyebrow tatoo removal procedure is very seldom a one time thing. Many, often expensive, treatments are required. The process can take weeks or months, so please be patient.
