One of the most complete marathon training programs that I have ever seen in recent years is the 100 Day Marathon Plan of Marius Bakken. This marathon training plan has helped many runners. This plan can be used by both by beginners and experienced runners in order to achieve goals for their running time. Bakken is a former long distance runner himself so he knows all about the hardships and difficulties of training for an event like a marathon. It was when he was training for such an event when he came across the training methods of the best long distance runners in the world, the Kenyans. He was profoundly affected by what he learned from them. He set about to develop a training philosophy and program based on what he had learned.
